The school lesson is presented as a role play. It is  hands on and interactive.

The children will be able to experience, see, feel and participate when they attend school

as students would have in the early to mid 1800s. Teachers, carers, and parents will be

encouraged to dress up..

With the aid of chalk, boards & charts the children will undergo a brief session of schooling and learn about how people lived in the bush   .   They will learn about the basics of  reading, writing and arithmetic

To assist with the fun of the role play, it is suggested that the students come in period costume.

Some of the questions that have been asked...

  • What stories did kids like?
  • What jobs did kids do around the house?
  • How did they get to school?
  • Did they play sports?
  • What happened if a fire came?
  • Did kids get lollies?
  •  Did they have pets?
  • Since they had no TV, what did they do at night?
  • What happened it they got sick?
  • Where did they get their hair cut?
  • Where did they get their clothes?
  • As there was so much dirt, how did they keep their clothes clean?
